How long before I can drive on my new driveway?
You can generally walk on it after about 3–4 days, but we recommend keeping vehicles off for a full 7 days, and heavier loads like caravans or trailers off for the full 28-day cure.
Do I need council approval for a new driveway crossover?
Yes, most councils across Sydney’s west require a crossover permit for new or altered kerb access. We handle the application as part of the job so you don’t have to deal with it.
How thick should a concrete driveway be?
A standard residential driveway is usually 100mm thick with steel mesh reinforcement, though we’ll adjust this based on your soil type and whether heavier vehicles will use it.
How far in advance do I need to book?
For standard jobs, 1–2 weeks’ notice is ideal, though we can often accommodate shorter timeframes. For emergencies, we offer 24/7 response.
What's the price difference between plain, exposed aggregate and decorative driveways?
Plain concrete is the most affordable option, exposed aggregate sits in the middle, and decorative (stencilled or stamped) finishes cost more due to the extra labour and materials involved.
Is there a difference between new concrete and replacing existing concrete?
Yes. Replacing existing concrete usually involves extra work first: breaking up and removing the old slab, disposing of it, and prepping the base again, so it’s generally quoted differently to a new pour on a clear site. Let us know when you request your quote whether it’s new concrete or a replacement, and we’ll factor that in from the start.
What if my site has access issues, like a narrow side gate or no truck access?
Not a problem just let us know about the access issues (narrow side gate, steps, no truck access) when you request your quote. Vincent will factor this into the site visit and the plan for getting materials and equipment in, so there are no surprises on the day.
